Make food more fun by transforming your veggies into a beautiful bouquet of blooms! Perfect for little ones to construct with parents for an interactive mealtime experience, and ideal for special occasions, like Mother’s Day and Easter.

Suitable for 3+ years.

INGREDIENTS

  • Mini sweet peppers
  • Carrot
  • Cucumber
  • Asparagus, to make the stem
  • Fresh spinach, to make the leaves
  • Fresh parsley, to tie them together

METHOD

  • 1 On a plate, lay out asparagus stems in an arrangement like a bunch of flowers. If babies are eating parts of this arrangement, steam the asparagus first until soft and tender if under 18 month olds. Little ones over 18 months can enjoy crunching on raw asparagus.
  • 2 Tie the asparagus together with a sprig of fresh parsley.
  • 3 Cut the carrot, cucumber and peppers into a variety of floral shapes. The shapes we have shown are suitable for children over three years of age, but cutting softened veggies into smaller strips or chunks that will avoid a choking risk can make this recipe suitable for weaning.
  • 4 Arrange the veg into flower shapes at the top of the asparagus stalks.
  • 5 Add spinach leaves to the asparagus stalks to represent the flower’s leaves.
  • 6 Serve and enjoy a picture perfect meal!
